Presented: Apr 22, 2024 Available until: May 1, 2025
The OSHA standard for The Control of Hazardous Energy outlines specific actions and procedures for addressing and controlling hazardous energy during the servicing and maintenance of machines and equipment. Many employers create a Logout/Tagout program but don't always follow their own policies. The lack of an effective LOTO plan that is consistently followed can lead to serious injuries and high fines. During this webinar, we will share several scenarios where the LOTO plan was not followed, discuss why LOTO plans are essential, the steps to create and implement a LOTO program, and how to ensure employees’ adherence to the program.
Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Recognize hazardous energy sources
- Explain appropriate controls of hazardous energy
- List the steps necessary to properly control hazardous energy when servicing equipment
- Train and monitor employees’ adherence to LOTO requirements
