Line of Sight in Hygiene – Methods for Visualizing Health Risks to Support Management in Risk Recognition

Join us on Apr 16, 2026 at 8:00pm (20:00) ET

Available until: Apr 30, 2027

Supporting management in recognizing and addressing workplace health risks can be a complex challenge for industrial hygienists. Unlike safety incidents, which often produce immediate and visible outcomes, the health effects of occupational exposures may not become evident for months or even years. This delay can make it more difficult to convey the urgency of proactive health risk management.

Industrial hygienists play a critical role in bridging this gap—helping management understand how various workplace exposures can impact worker health both in the short and long term. Effective communication of these risks requires not only technical expertise but also the ability to clearly explain the nature of potential hazards, the consequences of inaction, and the tangible benefits of early intervention and prevention.

This webinar explores practical strategies and communication tools to help industrial hygienists more effectively engage with management, present complex health risk information with clarity, and influence decision-making that supports long-term worker well-being. Participants will gain insights and resources that can enhance their ability to advocate for a healthier, more informed workplace.

Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the role of the industrial hygienist in supporting management, particularly in the identification, evaluation, and control of workplace health risks.
  2. Utilize the Bradley Curve to determine where the organization is positioned within this framework of safety culture maturity.
  3. Explore methods and tools to better support industrial hygienists in effectively communicating health risks and their potential impacts to management.
