Ethical leadership isn’t just a moral ideal—it’s a practical foundation for trust, accountability, and sound decision‑making in safety and risk management. This webinar explores how integrity, fairness, and care for people empower safety professionals to influence leaders who control resources and priorities for health, safety, and the environment.
Participants will learn how to recognize and embody key characteristics of ethical leadership, navigate ethical pressures, and keep worker well‑being at the heart of safety decisions—even under production or cost constraints. We will also outline concrete actions leaders can take to build an ethical culture, such as setting the tone at the top, creating and enforcing a code of ethics, leading by example, offering ethics and safety training, and encouraging open, non‑retaliatory reporting.
By connecting ethical behavior to measurable outcomes—like higher participation, better communication, fewer incidents, and stronger psychological safety—attendees will gain practical tools and language to demonstrate that ethics isn’t abstract. It’s a performance driver that protects people, strengthens culture, and improves organizational results.
Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Identify ethical challenges present in the workplace
- Identify characteristics and attributes of an ethical leader
- Name steps leaders and professionals can take to build and support an ethical organizational culture
- Describe how engaging ethical behavior can benefit OEHS within an organization
