Enhancing Safety Culture - Integrating HOP or BBS into Your Management System

Since the COVID-19 pandemic brought increased attention to mental health and psychosocial risks, there has been a growing demand for stronger safety cultures and well-being initiatives. However, many organizations still face challenges in understanding what a positive safety culture and comprehensive well-being framework truly entail and how to achieve them effectively. This webinar will explore the integration of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) and/or Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) approaches into safety culture while also addressing key Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and well-being frameworks.

Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:  

  1. Describe a positive safety culture
  2. Integrate Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) approaches into the safety culture
  3. Address key environmental, health and safety and well-being frameworks when integrating HOP and BBS

Miriam Koesterich, MS, CSP, CIH

Instructor

Ms. Koesterich is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with a Masters in Environmental Health Science. She brings thirteen years of industry experience and is currently an EH3S consultant with BSI America Professional Services, Inc. Her experience in providing outreach training and information brings a wealth of knowledge to clients.

  2. Score 70% or higher on the quiz.
  3. Complete the webinar evaluation.

No certificate will be awarded to participants who do not meet the above completion requirements.

Computer Requirements

The Bowen Learning Network online virtual classrooms are powered by BigBlueButton. It fully supports the Windows, Mac OS X, and Chromebook platforms (see below for versions supported). Support is available for iOS (iPads) and Android Tablets. While smart phones can be used, the screens are too small to display all of the aspects of the Virtual Classroom.  For the best online learning experience, the use of a device with a larger screen is HIGHLY recommended. A physical keyboard is also recommended.
