We completed our survey process for the January 2024 CIH Online Review course. 100 days after the course end date, we determined the participants who completed the course and asked them to participate in a short survey.
To receive a Certificate of Completion, clients are required to complete the following list of items:
- Listen to each of the 16 lectures (participate live or review recorded lectures).
- Score 70% or higher on all homework assignments.
- Score 70% or higher on the Bowen EHS final exam.
- Complete the course evaluation.
Now for the results! The January 2024 CIH Online Review took place from January 8th through February 28th, 20224.
Of those who completed the course:
- 81% responded to our survey!
- 94% of those responding took the CIH exam.
- Of those who took the exam, 58% PASSED.
If you are wondering about the time commitment required to prepare for the CIH Exam, we asked these course participants the same question.
They spent an average of 366 hours studying and a little over 8 months preparing.
Due to the Board For Global EHS Credentialing's (BGC) delay of the exam window and the change in the testing center provider, many comments were made about the experience. While there were positive reports, far more negative experiences were shared than normal. The most significant issues were the lack of communication from the BGC, the availability of physical whiteboards, and the online calculator.
We know this was a difficult exam window for our participants, and we strive to keep abreast of the changes made by the certifying agencies and communicate those changes to our participants. We will continue to do so because we want you to have the best chance of success with your certification exam.
We highly recommend reviewing your Authorization To Test (ATT) letter before your exam and contacting the BGC (www.gobgc.org) with any questions.
