Expert Witnessing for Industrial Hygienists

As an Industrial Hygienist, you may be called to testify as an expert witness. Whether you represent the plaintiff or defendant, there are areas where you can add valuable information to strengthen the attorney’s ability to present the best possible position of those that they represent. You are expected to have sufficient IH knowledge and experience to be an expert witness. Are you prepared to do so? Do you know what to expect?

During this webinar, we will outline the steps you can take to prepare to testify as an expert witness while reviewing some basic law concepts.

  1. Determine who can be an expert witness.
  2. Prepare to testify in court or in arbitration.
  3. Provide convincing and clear written evidence to support their party.
  4. Present their opinion analysis.
  5. Stand by their curriculum vitae.

Daniel Farcas, Ph. D. CIH, CSP, CHMM, M.S. M.A

Lecturer

Dr. Daniel Farcas has more than 20 years of experience in conducting scientific research and leading production teams in a variety of fields including public health, infection control, nanotechnology, microbiology, silica, and asbestos. He is the author or co-author of numerous scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Farcas holds a Ph. D. in Human and Community Development with a major in Natural Resource Management. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager. Dr. Farcas is also the author of numerous easy-to-understand texts for OESH professionals preparing for certification exams including “CIH EXAM Equations simply explained and with examples” and “CSP EXAM Equations simply explained and with examples." Last but not least, he is the father of three beautiful and amazing kids.
