I received a preliminary pass on my CIH exam!!!!!!! It took me a few tries but I finally did it. The Bowen course was essential to passing, I could not have done it without the material and all the advice! My journey began in 2012 when I began studying for it and took a few years off and began studying again in 2016. I failed it in the Fall of 2016, Spring of 2017 (8 months pregnant) and then again in the fall of 2020. Finally, after much focus and dedication, I am proud to say that I passed the CIH exam! Do not give up!! You only fail if you never try!! Again, this would not have been possible without the Bowen Course and material. Thank you 1,000 times!!!

I finally passed the CIH exam!! It was such a huge relief because I failed the exam in November last year. This is probably the most difficult exam I have ever done. The practice quizzes for Bowen were very helpful and it's important to practice very well before attempting this exam. All the best to everyone planning on taking this exam.

CIH Preliminary Pass November 2020! Thanks for the win! The material from the class was so helpful, but it really was a bigger benefit to participate in a live webinar class compared to study on my own with just books! My exam was canceled and rescheduled twice for COVID but I finally got it done!

I completed your CIH Exam Review course Spring of 2019. Due to surgery in 2019 and COVID cancellation in the spring of 2020, I was not able to sit for my exam until this month. I am very excited to let you know that I received a preliminary pass on my exam. Thank you so much for the resources and quality training you provided to help set up a reasonable study plan for the exam. I still reviewed a number of resources outside of your class material, but your course put me on the correct flight path to reach my destination. Thanks, again!!

Happy to report that I just finished my exam and received my Preliminary pass on my very first attempt! The exam is tough and realize there are some things you just can't study for. Make educated guesses, and read the questions CAREFULLY! Check your units! I studied with Bowen EHS, Health Hazards book, TLV Book, and AIHA Reference and Study guide. Thanks for the course and all the helpful info, Rustin!

I passed my CIH exam last week, first attempt. This is a difficult cookie which I mean in volume and content. It takes a long time for you to feel prepared. It is definitely not something that you will be able to crack in 2 months of prep time. It took me about a month or 2 just to gather the reference materials and source them out through the library, friends, etc. Bowen gives you a great form and shape to the vast content and the leg work is on you. I am proud to say that I did it........with a full-time busy job and 2 small kids at home. I started way early. In the last week, I was panicking as I did not attend any of the study sessions. I started studying for this November 2018 and got through it in November 2019. People with young kids and busy lives............this is doable just give yourself more time for the bumpy ride. It was a wonderful experience and a difficult journey for the past year. In the end ........will love to have those three letters. Thanks to Bowen!

I received a preliminary pass on the CIH exam! The Bowen course, practice quizzes and tests, and resources were great tools that I used to help me study. Well worth the investment. Thank you!!

Happy to share with you my preliminary pass. Thank you all and Russ for the help in preparing - this forum was a good tool. To pay it back here are a few things that may help: 1) if there is a topic Russ “reviewed” that you don’t have experience with, it might be good to seek out extra training in that area; 2) Don’t let questions on the exam that you’ve not studied shake you up. There will be things you didn’t review - expect it and don’t let it impede your testing ability on other questions; 3) Study big-picture items that make you a good industrial hygienist; 4) pay attention to where the practice problems came from in the quiz bank and study there!

Thank you very much!! Your course was really and truly invaluable. My biggest worry when facing the task of preparing for the exam was not knowing where to focus my efforts, how best to study for it, and how in-depth I needed to go with the various rubrics. The prep course helped navigate all of those issues and I think it made me much more effective with my time than if I had waded into this solo. The study sessions were also so very helpful!! Thank you toyou and your amazing team for the resources you've pulled together. I'll be recommending your course to anyone in my professional circle considering challenging the exam.

I received a preliminary pass on the CIH exam. I took the most recent Bowen CIH exam prep class in preparation for this exam. It helped me identify areas where my knowledge base was weak, so I could concentrate my studies in those areas. I also passed the CSP exam in August. The resources available for premium members helped me to be successful in both exams. I recommend that on test day, you focus on being well-rested and as relaxed as you can. I had a full night's rest and took a long shower before leaving my house. I had a small breakfast and took a large bottle of water with me to the testing center. The water was for the mid-exam break period. I would’ve brought a small snack if I thought I wouldn’t be done by lunchtime. I wasn’t anxious before the exam because the worst-case scenario is you don’t pass and you’ll get a breakdown on what rubric you were lacking. That would help you focus your studies for the next attempt. Best of luck on your attempts and don’t give up!

Thank you so much, Russ!!!!! To say this [passing the CIH exam] is a relief is a huge understatement! This could not have been possible without your guidance. Your advice helped me so much!!!! Funny thing is that going through the exam, it felt so much more different this time. It was like a light bulb moment happened. I was reading the questions and it all just made sense. As I was doing a bit of self-reflection, I couldn’t believe how I had missed some key details on the very same questions previously. I don’t know what happened, but I’m glad it’s done. I have met a goal and I am a better person for it. This journey has definitely taught me a lesson in perseverance!! So I have managed to set yet another goal, and that is to successfully pass the CSP. But before I do that, I’m taking a few weeks off and enjoying some much-needed beach time. Thank you again Russ!! You have no idea how much you have helped me achieve this goal!!!! I look forward to seeing you or listening to you in the future!!! Take care!!

I took my exam this morning, and I'm happy to have received a preliminary pass on my first try. Many thanks and appreciation to Russ, Rustin, and the team at Bowen EHS for putting together a very insightful and comprehensive review course for this exam. Your course (especially the study question vault) gave me a lot more confidence going into this! I think the best strategy that worked for me was to study a little every day (1-2 hours) for the past 4-5 months instead of cramming information in huge time blocks, reading the recommended literature from the first or second lecture, and definitely having a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast (Thanks for the tip Russ!). Thanks again and good luck to those taking this exam!
